Membership Rate Adjustment

Effective February 1, 2026, membership rates will increase by $1–$2 per month, depending on membership type. This modest adjustment allows us to continue investing in our facilities, programs, and overall member experience while maintaining the high standards you expect from the YMCA.

Facility & Program Enhancements

Thank you to everyone who shared feedback during our fall membership survey. Many of the improvements currently underway, and those planned for 2026 are a direct result of your input. We are proud to turn your suggestions into meaningful action, including:

  • Additional equipment added in both branches for the Wellness, Sports, Music & Arts, and Child Watch Departments, with more to come
  • A major renovation of the Middletown Wellness Center, including new strength equipment, flooring, lighting and more
  • New flooring in the Monroe Group Fitness Studio and Middletown Child Watch Room
  • A custom YMCA mobile app, currently in development and scheduled to launch in the spring, featuring:
    • Easier program registration
    •  Fitness challenges and engagement tools
    • More efficient and personalized communication

We also received feedback expressing interest in a wider variety of group fitness classes and programs. In response, we are prioritizing investment in our staff team in 2026 through enhanced training for current employees and the onboarding of additional team members, ensuring our YMCA remains a place where everyone can thrive. A list of our current programs and member benefits by age category is included on the back of this letter. Looking ahead, we remain committed to upgrading our facilities to better support you and your family for years to come.

Monthly Bank/Credit Card Draft is a simple and convenient method of payment. This continuous membership is automatically withdrawn from a checking account, savings account, or credit card each month. We require a pro-rated amount for the month you sign up, plus the enrollment fee. There is no expiration date for bank/credit card drafted memberships. To terminate the automatic bank/credit card draft and/or to change draft information, a Member must give 3 day notice prior to the monthly draft date. Membership cancellations can be sent to [email protected] or in person at the YMCA OF MIDDLETOWN or the South Orange Family YMCA. Cancellations can only be submitted by the primary member of the membership account.

Annual Membership Payments
expire one year from the first full month after your join date. When signing up for an annual membership, a partial month’s pro-rated fee, the annual membership fee, and the enrollment fee is due at registration.

A credit card is currently the only form of payment accepted to join online. If you wish to pay through a monthly EFT, please visit us in-person with a voided check or letter from your bank that includes your name, routing and account number.

The Enrollment Fee is a one-time charge due at sign-up and when renewing membership after more than 60 days past the expiration date. The Enrollment fee is only refundable when cancelling membership within 3 days of the original join date.

Your pro-rated dues for the month along with your Enrollment Fee will be due the day you join. Moving forward, we will charge the credit card you provided on the 1st of every month for your full monthly membership dues.

Our membership cancelation process is simple and convenient. We require a 10 day notice to cancel prior to your monthly draft date. Members can initiate cancelations through their online account dashboard.

Please click here to access your account online.

Cancelations can also be done in person at the YMCA OF MIDDLETOWN or the South Orange Family YMCA. Cancellations can only be submitted by the primary member of the membership account.

Membership can be paid upfront for the year but can only be done so in-person.
