At the Y, a supportive community is a big part of wellness. Instructors lead you through the workouts providing you effective, fun and easy-to-follow steps. Our staff works to reach everyone at every fitness level! Through our group exercise classes, you’ll find an activity that will meet your needs and deliver results! We offer a wide array of classes at our YMCAs including cardio, cycling, kickboxing, yoga, pilates and more. Scroll down to read about the classes we offer!

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Adaptive Adult Fitness: This program is an hour of movement & social time for Adaptive adults aged 18 and up. Each week will do a different type of movement workout (walking, strength training. yoga, etc.) Workouts will be for all levels and abilities and all program areas are handicapped accessible. Guardians & workers are welcome to join in or observe.

Booty Camp + Core: work through weighted and bodyweight intervals of lower body and core work. All to help tone, firm and strengthen some of the most important muscles All Fitness levels welcome. Build & Sweat – Get a great build and cardio burn with this 3 round class. Each round features 4 exercises—the first 3 are weight moves followed by a cardio blast. The final class round will focus all 4 exercises on the core. All fitness levels welcome.

Core & Cardio: A whole body workout that elevates the heart rate by targeting your entire core; front, back, sides, above, and below. All fitness levels welcome.

Core and Mobility: This dynamic class is a fusion of Yoga, Pilates, core and full body stretching. Designed to improve your core stability, enhance mobility, and increase your overall body awareness. All fitness level welcome.

Core 30: A 30 minute core conditioning class featuring 3 rounds that has 2 moves per round for 3 sets. Each round will get progressively harder – modifications will be offered for all.

Cycle Zones: Gear up for a cycling class designed to enhance strength, endurance, and speed. Each week focusing on different training aspects. Push your limits through progressive sessions that will give you a great workout. All fitness levels welcome.

Fists of Fury: A 45 minute circuit based class with a combination of boxing basics and calisthenics to increase the heart rate, developing strength and endurance. This will leave you drenched in sweat! Box and burn those cares and calories away. Modifications are always available.

H.A.B.I.T.: (Hips, Abs, Buns, Incredible Thighs) A 30–40 minute strength training leg workout that targets the core, thighs and glutes. This is one HABIT your body will thank you for!

Heavy Half + Core: Strength training and core class that will challenge you to lift heavier than you are used to, for a small amount of time. Focus is on form with a concentration on range of motion so the whole muscle gets used. All levels are welcome.

H.I.I.T. & Strength: Cardio combined with weights helps tone and increase strength all while burning calories & getting a good sweat on.

I.V.A.: I.V.A FITNESS: An interval training program set to the music we love and designed to work the entire body through dance (Hip Hop, Reggae, Soca, Latin & more), strength, and core routines (kickboxing, Capoeira, yoga, weight training & more). All levels welcome.

Light & Lively: A class for beginners & the active older adults. Class includes light cardio and exercises for fitness, strength, balance and flexibility.

Pilates: Condition the mind and body to strengthen the body’s core unit. A series of exercises will help to develop strength, flexibility and core strength. All levels welcome

PiYo: PiYo combines the strengthening benefits of Pilates with the flexibility enhancing effects of yoga. Set to music, this dynamic, energetic program was designed to provide a full-body workout without straining your body.

Seniorcize: A group exercise class designed specifically for the active older adult. The class is led by two certified personal trainers who utilize the Cybex strength equipment, hand weights, physio balls, and indoor track. Benefits from this class will include improved: strength, flexibility, balance, cardiovascular endurance, and core stability.

Spin—Intervals & Arms: Combining all the great cardio and lower strength of spin and integrating an upper body workout will give you total body training . All fitness levels welcome.

Stacked: Start with one exercise and keep adding on more as the class goes on. This full body workout get’s your heart pumping and leaves you sweating and feeling great. All fitness levels welcome.

Strength & Conditioning: This class alternates between free weights, exercise tubing, stability balls, or other strength training and conditioning activities.

Step & Sweat: Combining a classic cardio workout with interval training with dumbbells for upper and lower body strengthening this workout will give your body all it needs. Class will end with core training. Adaptable for all fitness levels.

STRONG Nation: Combines bodyweight muscle conditioning, cardio and plyometric training moves. In each class you’ll burn calories while toning arms, legs, abs and glutes. All fitness levels welcome.

SuperHero: Train for performance, improving your endurance. stamina, agility and strength. This high intensity interval training will challenge you and change you.

Tabata: Interval Training offers more health benefits than traditional cardiovascular exercise. You will work hard for 20 seconds and rest for 10 seconds for a series of 8 intervals (a total of 4 minutes). Routines and timing vary with each class. This workout increases endurance and stimulates fat loss.

Total Body Burn: This class will work all your major muscle groups using weights, the step and your own body weight to get your heart pumping and give you that burn you want.

TRX: The TRX Suspension Trainer leverages gravity and your body weight to perform hundreds of exercises. Challenge yourself by adjusting your body position to increase or decrease resistance.

TRX – Strength & Stretch: Use your own body weight to strengthen muscles and enhance flexibility utilizing the suspension bands. Beginner friendly but all levels of fitness will benefit from this workout.

Y PUMP: This workout challenges all of the major muscle groups by using the best weight room exercises like squats, lifts, presses, and curls. Choreographed exercise along with your choice of weights. All fitness levels welcome.

Yoga: Increase flexibility, enhance breathing, reduce tension, improve quality of life, and create connection with your family. Leave feeling stress-free and re-energized. All fitness levels welcome. Families welcome – ages 6 & up.

Zumba: This fusion of Latin and international dance music with easy-to-follow steps, provides aerobic fitness interval training through a combination of fast and slow rhythms to tone and sculpt your body. Families welcome – ages 6 +.

Our trained instructors do their best to make sure everyone feels safe and is successful in our program. Lessons are divided into three stages: Swim Starters, Swim Basics, and Swim Strokes.

All Position Stretch: Enjoy this relaxing class that includes spinal stretching in all positions: seated in a chair, standing, laying down, and seated on the floor. Breathing and relaxation techniques round out each session. All levels welcome.

Boot Camp: Get in shape, lose weight, and have fun doing it. Each class routine varies but all incorporate core conditioning to tone the abdominals, cardiovascular exercises through agility and running drills, body-weight resistance training, strength training, and more.

Boujé®: Boujé means “to move” in Creole. This high intensity cardiorespiratory program includes international styles of movement such as tai-chi and dance, set to assorted music. It is designed to burn up to 1,000 calories per hour. All levels welcome.

Cardio Kickboxing: This is a non-contact, aerobic kickboxing workout that utilizes basic techniques for punching and kicking, as well as basic body conditioning exercises. This class offers a combination of intense kickboxing moves, all perfectly choreographed to high energy and motivating music. All levels welcome.

Cardio & Strength: Alternating cardio and strength exercises by utilizing various types of equipment. Each class will be presented in a different format, so you will always be challenged in a different way. Stretching at the end is a large focus. All levels welcome.

Chair Yoga:
A chair provides participants with the stability and support needed to move up and down or stand making this traditional yoga class perfect for people with arthritis, those who are pregnant, have limited range of motion, or are recovering from an injury.

Cycling: Experience interval rides, hills, and sprints set to exhilarating music for a great cardio workout and calorie burner that elevates your heartrate and works your legs and core. *(WATTS) You will pay attention to your watts levels, challenging yourself to reach new levels of energy burn throughout the class. All levels welcome.

H.I.I.T.: This total-body, heart pumping, aerobic, and strength based workout will change the way you work out. This interval-based class combines full body strength training with high intensity cardio bursts designed to tone your body, improve
endurance, and clear your mind. All levels welcome.

Light & Lively: This combination of cardio and strength training is simple and easy to follow making it GREAT FOR ALL LEVELS. You’ll feel energized all day. Seniors welcome.

Mixxedfit: This dance fitness program incorporates explosive movements with boot camp type training. Modifications are available. All levels welcome.

Pilates: This class strengthens the core while improving the breathe, flexibility, and stability of the body. Light weights, bender balls, stability balls, and gliders may be used.  All levels welcome.

Strength: This class uses heavier weights to increase strength and muscle, and
improve your metabolism. All levels welcome.

Sunday Stretch: Enjoy this relaxing class that includes spinal stretching in all positions: standing, laying down, and seated on the floor. Breathing and relaxation techniques round out each session. All levels welcome.

Tai Chi: Tai chi is a system of movements and positions believed to have developed in 12th Century China. Tai chi techniques aim to address the body and mind as an interconnected system and are traditionally believed to have mental and physical health benefits. All levels welcome.

TRX:
The TRX Suspension Trainer is the original, best-in-class, workout system that leverages gravity and bodyweight to perform hundreds of exercises. All levels welcome.

Tabata: This circuit-type class includes all the benefits of cardiovascular exercise and weight training! Tabata falls into the category of HIGH INTENSITY interval training and is NOT for the faint-of-heart!

UTZ $: Every time you enter “The Zone” you’ll be challenged physically & mentally by
a certified trainer and be pushed outside your comfort zone so you can crush your
personal fitness goals. There is a program fee and registration is required. See front desk for details.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga: Vinyasa yoga offers an opportunity to build strength, stretch deeply and engage in a faster-paced flow of yoga poses linked together with breath. Vinyasa is excellent for your health. Not only does it keep you active, but it reduces stress, is accessible for many fitness levels, and improves heart health.

Yin Yoga: Yin Yoga helps release tightness and assists in relaxation by slowing down the mind and the body.  A Yin practice targets the deep connective tissues of the body – the ligaments, joints, bones, and the deep fascia by holding poses longer. The class is for all levels.

Yoga: This traditional class uses a series of poses, breathing techniques and meditation to activate the body, mind, and spirit. Yoga poses strengthen muscles,
and improve flexibility and mindfulness.

Zumba: This fusion of Latin and international dance music with easy-to-follow steps, provides aerobic fitness interval training through a combination of fast and slow rhythms to tone and sculpt your body while burning calories.

Zumba Step: Introducing Zumba® Step: All of the Step toning and strengthening for your legs and glutes. All the Zumba® fitness-party fun you love with easy to follow choreography. All levels welcome.

Looking for a more intense and individualized swimming lesson?

Private Lessons – Work one-on-one with one of our swimming instructors and schedule sessions around a more flexible schedule (30 minutes).

Semi Private Lessons – It’s more fun to learn with a friend. Semi private lessons can be arranged for two swimmers of the same swimming ability.
