Camp Robbins

131 North Drive Walden, NY 12586

After extensive renovations, Camp Robbins is back and the magic is still resounding. Whether you’ve actually experienced the magic of Camp Robbins or not, if you walk the grounds you can feel a true sense of summer: visualizing children at the pool, feeling a camper’s pride of achievement at the ropes course and sharing stories around the campfire.

Swimming, boating, crafting, playing sports, completing the high and low ropes courses, hiking, learning survival skills, gaining an appreciation for the outdoors, and making new friends is the kind of experience you can expect for your child at Camp Robbins.

Bus transportation is available with limited pick up and drop off points in the Newburgh, Wallkill and Montgomery areas.

Every child looks forward to a summer of fun. At the Y, Pioneer campers enjoy a summer filled with stimulating activities and adventures. Our Pioneers participate in all the traditional and even some not-so-traditional camp activities. The camp day is filled with activities such as swim lessons, arts and crafts, sports, dramatic arts, nature, and music. At Camp Robbins all our programs strive to encourage an appreciation for diversity, improve social skills, and develop leadership skills, while having fun and making lifelong friends.

Ages 9-12

Each day Adventure campers explore new things and partner with other campers to forge new friendships. Nature, arts & crafts, sports, games, drama, special events, swimming, boating, and environmental education fill a typical camp day. Adventurers build confidence through participation in both individual and cooperative activities that include our low and high rope course. Adventurers are challenged to solve problems as a team in order to experience the positive results of cooperation. Hikes through the beautiful terrain cultivates an appreciation for the outdoors as campers learn to use compasses to maneuver through the woods.

Leaders in Training (LITs)
Ages 13-14

What better way to keep young teens active throughout the summer than to enroll them in a summer program where they learn important life skills, and have an opportunity to become future camp counselors? LITs spend most of their day shadowing our camp counselors and learning to mentor and provide assistance to young campers, but there is also plenty of time for them to build positive relationships with their peers. Our LITs participate in activities that focus on personal growth, build self-esteem and confidence, and encourage team work.

Counselors in Training (CITs)
Ages 15-16

At the end of each camp season we choose a few of our best LITs to assist our camp counselors for the upcoming summer. This will provide them an opportunity to hone their counseling skills, which could lead to the possibility of becoming a junior counselor for the following summer. There is no fee for this program, however all candidates must have completed our LIT program to be considered. Only 4 CITs will be selected each summer.

Each session there will be a special family night event that will provide families opportunities to experience Camp Robbins at it’s best.

Overnight Fee: $10.00 per event

During the second fourth sessions we will be hosting an all camper overnight full of FUN.  Expect these evenings to be jammed packed with special activities that are theme oriented. Dates will be announced prior to each session. All campers will need to provide their own sleeping gear.
