Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Are you refunding my membership dues?
A: The March membership dues have been drafted and we ask that members please consider sustaining their membership in support of our charitable mission. If you would like to freeze your membership at this time please contact us at: (E) contactus@middletownymca.org (P) 845-344-9622 or 845-782-9622
Q: When will the Y open again?
A: The Y will reassess the situation and will update members by no later than March 31st. Please note this is dependent on what the state mandates as well.
Q: What is the Y doing during this closure?
A: We are offering some fun exercise videos through our social media and YouTube ( https://www.youtube.com/YMCAofMiddletown ). We encourage you to follow us to stay connected and keep moving.
Q: Have any YMCA members tested positive for COVID-19?
A: No. At this time, we are not aware of any members or staff at our facilities who have tested positive for COVID-19.
Q: I was in the Y recently, should I be concerned?
A: We all need to be aware of the potential spread of the virus and monitor ourselves and loved ones for COVID-19 symptoms of fever, cough, and shortness of breath. If you or a loved one develops these symptoms please stay home and speak to your healthcare provider. For more information go to the CDC’s website (cdc.gov) to learn What You Need To Know and What To Do If You Are Sick.
Q: I have general questions about COVID-19
A: Please refer to the CDC’s website cdc.gov
Q: Will my draft be automatically reinstated when the Y reopens?
A: Yes. Please look for an email communication from us or feel free to contact us: (E) contactus@middletownymca.org (P) 845-344-9622 or 845-782-9622
Q: Will I receive a credit for childcare?
A: For March, our Club Kid and Preschool families will receive a credit towards next month’s bill equal to the number of weeks that each school district officially closed due to the COVID-19. A childcare letter was mailed to all participating families the week of March 17th.
Q: Will I receive a credit for Winter II Programs?
A: Those currently enrolled in youth sports and aquatics have two choices: you can consider your program fees a donation to the Y’s ongoing mission to serve community or take a credit toward future programming in the 2020 calendar year.
We thank you for your support and understanding and look forward to seeing you again soon!
