Irene Rumsey brings a wealth of experience and passion to her role as the Executive Director of Camp Robbins. With a remarkable 25-year journey within the Y, Irene has become an integral part of creating positive and impactful experiences for children.
As the driving force behind Camp Robbins, Irene is thrilled to embark on a new adventure, promising an enriching and memorable summer for all campers. Alongside two dedicated co-directors, Irene is committed to ensuring that every child under her care has the best summer, filled with fun, growth, and lasting memories.
Irene’s dedication to the YMCA’s mission and her extensive background in childcare make her a beacon of leadership. Her vision extends beyond managing programs; she strives to create an environment where every child feels valued and supported in their journey of discovery.

Darina Coppola – Co-Director of Camp Robbins
Darina Coppola is a dedicated educator with over 25 years of experience in teaching and mentoring children. As a certified special education and elementary school teacher, she has left a lasting impact on the lives of countless students through her passion for learning and nurturing. Her years of working with children and families have given her the knowledge and insight on how to listen best, help, and respond to the needs of those in her care and their family members.
Darina’s journey in education was multifaceted. Beyond the classroom, she ventured into the dynamic world of marketing, where she contributed her expertise to Arcotoys, a subsidiary of Mattel Toys, focusing on the iconic Barbie brand. Her keen insights and creativity helped shape strategies that resonated with audiences worldwide.
Her commitment to empowering children extended beyond traditional academic settings. Darina served as the Site Supervisor and later as the Program Director for Club Kid, where she fostered fun and growth within an inclusive environment. Known affectionately as the “Camp Fairy” at Camp Robbins, she greeted every camper with a smile. She followed them throughout their day to ensure they had the best experience.
Darina’s career embodies a blend of education, creativity, and heartfelt mentorship. Her enduring impact on children and colleagues is a testament to her unwavering dedication to shaping brighter futures.

Cynthia Pacheco – Co-Director of Camp Robbins
Cynthia is a military wife, a mom of four amazing kids, and a grandma of two! Growing up she started babysitting at around the age of nine, as a mother’s helper, which turned into babysitting the same family until she married. At sixteen she worked for the Town of Wallkill camp as their counselor.
Along with being a Co-Director at Camp Robbins, she is also a Kindergarten teacher’s assistant at Minisink Valley Central School District. Her career with the YMCA started seven years ago as a site director for Club Kid which opened the door for her to join the Camp Robbins team. At Camp Robbins, she served as Camp Health Director for some time, which led to her serving as the Assistant Director and Health Director for the next 3 years.
Now as a Co-Director, she looks forward to spending another amazing summer having fun and making memories with Camp Robbin’s team!
