RUTHIE DINO-MARSHALL RUN
AWARD AND PRESENTATION UPDATE
The YMCA of Middletown held its 14th Annual Ruthie Dino-Marshall 5K Run/Walk in June. Ruthie, a lifelong member of the Middletown community and a special woman who was well-liked by all who knew her, passed away 14 years ago after a courageous fight with breast cancer. Ruthie touched many lives in her work at the YMCA of Middletown and the Twin Towers Middle School. The Run/Walk celebrated and remembered the life of an exceptional woman and raised money for charity.
The revenue generated from the race sustains the spirit of Ruthie’s life through the Ruthie Marshall Memorial Fund, which provides financial help and support for students and their families in the Middletown School District. Proceeds from the Race are split between the YMCA of Middletown and the Middletown School District. Danny Dino presented George Marshall with the District’s share of the proceeds.
Congratulations to Julie Garcia, the recipient of the newly founded Lt. Charles C. Dino ward. This Award honors her success in taking first prize in the contest to design this years Ruthie Run t-shirt. Danny Dino presented the Award in his father’s name to Julie.
