Adult Sports

Adult Basketball

Informal recreational play Monday evenings. Guest passes will be accepted during the weekdays at noon time, but they will not be accepted due to the overwhelming popularity of
the program. Adult basketball is reserved exclusively for adult and college members.

Adult Fitness

Half & Half - NEW!!


An easy to follow cardio workout! (High Energy – Warm up first – followed by 30 minutes
of cardio (basic floor aerobics or step aerobics or a combination of both). The ending
toning segment targets upper & lower body together. Class ends with a full body stretch.
All fitness levels welcome!

Zumba - NEW!!


Zumba is a fusion of Latin and international music dance themes that create a dynamic, exciting, effective fitness system! The routines feature aerobic/fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and scuplt the body.  Zumba utilizes the priniples of fitness interval training and resistance training to maximize caloric output, fat burning and total body toning with easy to follow dance steps.

What is the Base Camp?
At 'Base Camp' we recognize the need to support Individuals and families in finding strategies and programs to help them adopt and sustain heathier ways of living. As part of the national YMCA Activate America Initiative the YMCA of Middletown is committed to do just that. 

Who is 'Base Camp' for?
All individuals regardless of their fitness level can use and benefit from Base Camp, but we are particularly committed to our new health seeker.What is a health seeker? A health seeker is all who walk into the YMCA of Middletown with goals to achieve well-being of spirit, mind and body.

Base Camp welcomes and accomodates those individuals who are:
New to exercise, returning to exercise, sporadic exerciser,and/or recovering from injuries or illness.

Get Started Workshops - A 12 week wellness program.  Attend a get Started workshop to find out if this free 12 week motivational programs is for you.  Workshops are being held in the conference room and limited to 15 members per workshop.  Please see the calendar for workshop dates and times. Fee: $25.00 for members only.

Boot Camp


This Class is for anyone looking to improve their fitness level, Calisthics, dumbbells, marching, steps, bands, gliding discs, are all used to get a total body workout. This high intensity class will help take your body places its never been before.
Monday/Wednesday - 5:35-6:30 pm

 
Highway 81 Cycling Studio (21 Bikes)


This exciting bicycle fitness class will surely get you into shape. The certified instructors will create a fun atmosphere with music while pushing you to your individual limits. A class for all fitness levels and ages.
Note: If you are new to cycling we suggest you take a beginner class to get started.

 
Total Body Circuit


Boost your metabolism and get lean with our total body circuit — single sets of exercises, back-to-back, station-to-station. Stations will be alternated with cardio intervals.
Class is appropriate for all fitness levels.

Light & Lively


A class for beginners and the active older adult.  Class includes light dance aerobics & exercises for fitness, flexibility & balance.

YMCA Pump


This is the original barbell class that strengthens your entire body. This 60 minute workout challenges all of your major muscle groups by using the best weight-room exercises like squats, presses, lifts, and curls. Great music, awesome instructors and your choice of weight inspire you to get the results you came for - and fast!

Saturday AM Workout


An aerobic class featuring a weekly rotation of our high-energy aerobic staff and their specialty classes that include: Aerobics, Step, Kickboxing and Interval training. A great class to get to know our instructors and get a taste for the different classes we offer during the week.

Pilates (Basic Mat)

Pilates incorporates body and mind. In Pilates it is more important to execute a few repetitions of an exercise correctly versus numerous, mindless repetitions. The result is longer, leaner muscles, clarity of mind, and a feeling of “refreshment” after class.
Pilates incorporates elements of yoga, swimming, Greco Roman exercise, breathing techniques, boxing, rowing, dance, and gymnastics.

Strength and Stretch

This class incorporates Pilates based movement and stretch and strengthening exercises that will tone and firm your body like nothing else.

Absolutely Abs/Back

A straight forward program that focuses on your abs, lower back and posture. If your abs need a little more attention, this class is what you are looking for. Muscle balance is necessary for good posture so exercised for your lower back are included in this workout.

Seniorcize

A group exercise class designed specifically for the active older adult. The class is utilizes the strength, cardio equipment, physioballsand exercise bands. Benefits from this class will include improved: strength, flexibility, balance, cardiovascular endurance, and core stability. Oldies music sets the tone for this very popular class.
Class size may be limited.

W.A.H.O.O. "Want an Hour of Oomph?" NEW!!

A challenging workout aimed at toning for the entire body.  This ckass will use the Blender Ball, physio-balls, exercise bands, gliding disks and more for an hour and a whole lot of Oomph.

Yoga

Find new and interesting ways to increase your flexibility, enhance your breathing, reduce tension, and improve the quality of your life. What better way to relax after a long, stressful day at work than in a therapeutic yoga class? Leave the class feeling stress-free and re-energized. Treat your body and mind to something special!
